What's in each plan
Prices are per vessel, billed annually in pounds. A management company running six boats
buys six subscriptions and can put each one on a different plan.
The questions people actually ask
What happens if the card fails?
You get seven days to fix it. Nothing is deleted and nobody is locked out in that time.
What happens when the boat has no internet?
It keeps working for thirty days without contact. That covers an Atlantic crossing with
room to spare. Losing your connection is not the same as not paying, and we don't treat
it as though it were.
Is there a setup fee?
No. On Ship we build your first board with you, and that's in the price.
Can we change plan later?
Yes, per vessel, at any time. One boat moving up doesn't disturb the others.
Can we try it first?
Open the demo boat. It's the real product with
invented crew, not a video.
It's early, and that works in your favour
We're building this now. If your boat needs something that isn't here, tell us. We would
rather build what a vessel actually asks for than guess at it from an office.
I'm an ETO. I've stood the watches, been woken at 0300 because something tripped, and spent
enough time in a switchboard room to know which small jobs aren't. This started because I
wanted it on my own boat, and it's built from the crew's side of the door rather than from
an office with a diagram of one.
That's why integrations aren't a research project here. If a system is on the boat's network
we can usually read it, and the reading lands on your board next to everything else. Victron
for batteries, tanks and generator hours. Starlink and Peplink for connectivity. The lighting
and AV control. The network itself. Anything on NMEA 2000, from engines to tanks to the
stabiliser, comes in through a gateway.
If you've got something with an app, or just an idea, bring it. We'll tell you straight
whether it can be read: some kit only talks to a phone over Bluetooth, and then there's
nothing on the network for us to ask. But we like the problem, and anything that makes life
aboard easier is worth an afternoon of ours.
What we'll say yes to
Anything that makes the board tell the crew something true that they currently have to
go and find out. That's the whole test.
What we'll say no to
Anything that turns this into a planned maintenance system or a charter package. There
are good products for both and we're not going to be a worse one.
What it costs
Usually nothing. If it's useful to one boat it's useful to the next, so it goes into the
product rather than onto an invoice. Genuinely bespoke work we'd quote for.
Still deciding?
Tell us the boat, the size of the crew and what you're doing today instead. We'll tell you
which plan fits, or that none of them do.
